Volt is immediately hiring for a Dispatcher/Supervisor in Brisbane, Ca. $35.00 hourly.
Must be available for OT and Weekends.
As a Dispatcher you will:
Scheduling and Routing:
Assign waste collection routes to drivers based on factors such as location, type of waste, and urgency.
Ensure the efficient use of resources, minimizing fuel consumption and travel time while maintaining high levels of service.
Adjust routes or schedules in real-time to accommodate unexpected delays, accidents, or last-minute requests.
Monitoring and Communication:
Continuously track the progress of waste collection and disposal teams, ensuring they are following the designated routes and schedules.
Communicate with drivers and field staff to provide updates, resolve issues, and address any concerns.
Handle customer calls, questions, and complaints, coordinating with drivers to resolve any on-site problems quickly.
Managing Work Orders:
Process and manage customer work orders, ensuring they are accurately dispatched to the appropriate team or driver.
Prioritize service requests, such as emergency pick-ups or special instructions for hazardous waste handling.
Update and maintain records of completed work orders, customer feedback, and service requests.
Fleet and Equipment Management:
Monitor the condition and availability of vehicles and waste collection equipment.
Ensure that vehicles are properly maintained and serviced to avoid breakdowns or delays.
Dispatch vehicles that are equipped for the type of waste being collected (e.g., recycling, medical waste, bulk trash).
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure that all drivers comply with local regulations and safety protocols, including waste handling, transportation, and disposal guidelines.
Track and report safety incidents or potential hazards in the field.
Stay updated on environmental regulations and ensure all dispatch operations adhere to them.
Reporting and Data Management:
Maintain accurate records of all dispatch activities, including pick-up times, locations, and any issues encountered during service.
Generate and review reports on fleet performance, customer service metrics, and operational efficiency.
Analyze data to identify trends or areas for improvement in routing, scheduling, and customer service.
Customer Service and Problem-Solving:
Respond to customer inquiries regarding waste collection times, missed pickups, or billing issues.
Investigate customer complaints and coordinate with drivers and management to resolve problems.
Offer solutions to improve the overall customer experience, such as optimizing pick-up times or adding additional services.
This is a full time opportunity
1st shift 8:00am-5:00pm Mon-Fri
The ideal candidate will have:
Strong Communication: Effective verbal and written communication with drivers, customers, and other team members.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, including scheduling, routing, and addressing customer inquiries.
Problem-Solving: Quick thinking to resolve unexpected issues or delays in the field.
Knowledge of Local Regulations: Understanding of waste management and environmental laws and regulations.
Customer Service: Ability to interact professionally with customers and resolve service issues.
Technological Proficiency: Familiarity with dispatch software, GPS tracking, route optimization tools, and basic office software (e.g., Excel, email).
Additional job description:
Operations Supervisor
The job involves supervising day-to-day operations of Collections, Transfer Station, Material Recovery, or composting facility as assigned.
Duties include assigning tasks, ensuring equipment is well-maintained, keeping an eye on efficiency, and making sure safety rules and company policies are followed.
The role includes checking-out and checking-in drivers at the start and/or end of their shifts. The role also includes resolving customer and/or driver complaints and analyzing reports.
The job may involve filling in for others as needed.
Preferred Special Skills include strong technical skills in computers and Excel Spreadsheets, a commercial driver's license, and experience in a union environment, specifically in managing teams of 50 or more people.
Pay Rate: $35.00 per hour
