As the Print Specialist you are responsible for executing the Lands’ End print and pattern processes through evaluations focused on securing registration & layout approvals, while maintaining Lands’ End design vision and all business requirements. Registration & layout approvals include strike-offs, handlooms, knit-downs across all business categories, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and continuity within and across products.
Evaluate and approve registration & layout execution for print/patterns to include strike-offs, handlooms, and knit-downs.
Communicate approval status and any corrective execution comments using Natific ASAP system.
Provide technical recommendations to mills/vendors to drive improvement.
Review printing execution issues with cross-functional partners (CAD, Design, Sourcing) and align on the best business decisions at the development stage to avoid unexpected production issues.
Maintain and leverage industry knowledge of printing processes, dyes and inks. Share application and techniques with cross-functional partners for mutual understanding of the processes.
Understand the cost implications for various print methods and techniques to arrive at the best option for product end use and customer expectations while meeting costing goals.
Support the Lands’ End Color Accreditation Program by pulling relevant metrics/KPIs from Natific ASAP and/or Centric PLM to help advance the success of the program by identifying suppliers who demonstrate the capability to self-approve registration & layout.
Generate charts and reports as directed by manager, such as the daily Global CAD Tracking Chart or workload status updates throughout the development season.
Educate mills/vendors and cross-functional partners in print/pattern SOPs, processes, and requirements to improve efficiencies and product quality.
Perform color evaluations as needed, providing corrective comments to drive improvement toward accuracy and consistency.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Textiles or a related field.
1+ years related experience in print & pattern approval process, or sound technical understanding of textile printing expertise.
Score a “Superior” rating in Farnsworth-Munsell 100 Hue Test administered by Lands’ End.
Understanding of dyeing, printing, and product development processes.
Understanding of textiles: weaves, knits, washes, denim, yarns.
Familiarity with Natific ASAP and Centric PLM systems a plus.
Process- and solution-minded, with the ability to collaborate to drive efficiencies.
Ability to drive calendar dates and deliverables.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, verbal, written, and organization skills.
Ability to work independently and manage own workflow.
