The Procurement Specialist manages all aspects of assigned national vendor relationships, programs, contracts, reporting, and procurement strategies. Exhibits strong commitment to the service needs of the internal and external customer. Represents the company in a professional and courteous manner.

Essential Job Functions:


  • Responsible for the research, recommendation, and ongoing management (including but not limited to: E-procurement platform assistance) of assigned national vendors/categories.

  • Provides analysis and recommendations to Director of Procurement for the procurement of goods and services in any assigned national vendor/category.

  • Interfaces with internal business units to ensure compliance requirements and expectations are satisfactorily incorporated into all appropriate vendor contracts, as well as maintained throughout partnerships.

  • Assists with the overall planning processes for all assigned national contract renewals and negotiations, as well as all contract management (expirations, due dates, etc.).

  • Provides contract administration support services, including periodic review of contractor performance, compliance, developing contract modifications, and investigating reports of contract discrepancies.

  • Prepares financial impact analysis and modeling reports on new and revised assigned national contracts.

  • Prepares an assessment for Director of Procurement in preparation for bi-annual national vendor meetings – vendor performance, feedback information, concerns, etc. at least 15 days prior to meeting.

  • Compares prices amongst assigned national categories in order to recommend sound purchasing decisions to internal business units.

  • Compile, review and submit to Accounting, quarterly financial reports, for all assigned national vendors/categories.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications/Skills:


  • 2-5 years’ experience in field or related area

  • Knowledge of procurement practices and compliance

  • Previous success in establishing and maintaining vendor relationships

  • General understanding of business agreements, contracts and negotiation

  • Experience employing good judgment and discretion with confidential information

  • Experience with analysis and financial reporting

  • Intermediate level computer technology skills

  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people in a collaborative environment

  • Ability to handle multiple projects and thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field

  • Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

Desired Qualifications/Skills:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in field or related area

  • Working knowledge of computerized systems and MS Office Suite

Work Schedule:   8am-5pm, Monday-Friday, or as needed to meet business needs.
