About the Role
The Electrical Estimator/Project Manager will be responsible for the complete life cycle of the project. From responding to tenders, and bid requests, creating accurate estimates to project completion including budget, timeline, manpower, and change order management. The candidate should have an eye toward long-term growth within our company.
What You'll Do:
•Prepare detailed labor and material take-offs for vendors and input using estimating software.
•Submit and review pricing packages to clients.
•Participate in tender closing activities with duties including creating lead letters outlining our inclusions/exclusions for a tender, review all bills of material for job closings, assist with the final cost perpetration on closing day, and submit bids to clients.
•Communicate with customers and suppliers during the tender period.
•Attend site visits to review site conditions.
•Upon award of contracts, review pricing and assist with selecting compliant vendors and subcontractors to issue purchase orders and creating a progress schedule.
•Produce Pricing change orders as the project progresses using estimating software.
•Billing and invoice preparation and payment assistance when required.
•Ensure all safety protocols are followed.
•Manage material and manpower for your projects.
•Attend project meetings and site reviews.
•Coordination with local utility providers.
•Sales, customer contact, and follow-up after completion of work.
•Employee and customer retention and relationship building.
•Attend safety, training, sales, strategy, and other meetings as required.
•Other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring
• 5+ years of experience in the electrical and/or lighting business.
• HS/GED, required, Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Highly desirable to be primarily focused on industrial, commercial, and institutional electrical work.
• An Electrical License or electrical engineering background would be an asset but not mandatory.
• Knowledge of Electrical Power including switchgear and motor control.
• Knowledge of Electrical Power Controls including PLCs and communications.
• Knowledge of Instruments including pressure, and temperature transmitters and flow meters.
• General understanding of relevant technologies, such as estimating software, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Bluebeam, Adobe, etc.
• Familiarity with different wire and cable types for power distribution is a plus.
• Must be highly organized, and extremely well-versed in establishing customer relationships.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills; strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Solid planning, organizational skills, and effective problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to learn.
• Be able to work in a fast-paced team environment
• Bring decisive, focused leadership & be results-driven.
• Be accountable to yourself and your co-workers.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• This is not a remote position, regular office hours schedule M-F: 7AM – 4PM (negotiable).
