SUMMARY:
We are seeking a dynamic and commercially savvy Director of Logistics to join our corporate logistics team in Atlanta. This high-energy individual will work with our fleet management, trucking, LTL (Less-Than-Truckload), parcel, and courier delivery services. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of logistics and transportation processes and be motivated to drive excellence in a world-class logistics team.
Location: Smyrna, GA (near Battery center)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
A 4-year degree in a technical field, or related studies.
3 years of experience with SPR corporate applications.
5 years of experience managing teams.
5 years of experience in the logistics or transportation fields.
Knowledge of and aptitude for computers and systems required.
Knowledge of SQL or other programming languages a plus.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Experience with Microsoft Office applications required.
Experience with large scale applications required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS:
Must be detail oriented and exceptional in organization techniques. Must be self-motivated, with ability to set and achieve goals, and set priorities of multiple tasks in order to meet deadlines.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make sound business process decisions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
