POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Prepares test items, test sites, related equipment, and facilities in support of Patriot Air Defense Missile System testing. Directs test operations and prepares operational test documentation and correspondence including Operation Test Plans (OTSs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and National Range Documentation (NRDs). Coordinates tasks within testing community and collects and distributes data for assigned tests. Specific tasking may include instrumentation setup and operation, ammunition assembly, and environmental monitoring. Uses knowledge of Patriot Air Defense Missile System to perform job requirements.

Applies advanced technical knowledge of Patriot Air Defense Missile System to solve unusually complex problems that typically cannot be solved by depending on manufacturer’s manuals or similar documents in working on various equipment. Work may be reviewed by supervisor (frequently an engineer or designer) for compliance with accepted practices. May provide guidance to lower level technicians. Assignments may include operational duties. May be assigned other duties within his or her capabilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum qualification requirements include graduation from a two-year resident course at a technical institute and three years of progressive experience in the specific field, or a total of six years progressive experience in the specific field. Military training and experience with the Patriot Air Defense Missile System will be evaluated and allowed as qualifying. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Applicant selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and maneuver around weapons systems and be able to work in exterior unprotected environments.

Work will include cross-utilization into other jobs as required. May require some overtime and/or weekend work.
