Description

The Data Architect will be responsible for designing, creating, deploying, and managing the data architecture necessary for migrating customers from on-premises software to our SaaS platform as well as the ongoing exchange of data between Velosidy and clients' source systems. This role involves defining how the data will be stored, consumed, integrated, and managed by different data entities and IT systems, as well as any applications using or processing that data. The Data Architect will be responsible for managing a team of Application Developers, driving efficiency and consistency in daily operations, managing development and growth of the team.

This position is fully Remote

What You'll Do


  • Lead a team of Application Developers responsible for timely and accurate migration of data from on-premises applications to our SaaS solution, as well as development of data exchange processes required for business operations.
  • Design and implement effective database solutions and models to facilitate the migration of customer data from on-premises systems to our SaaS platform.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure seamless data integration and migration.
  • Assess and optimize database implementation procedures to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
  • Develop and maintain data migration & exchange strategies, including data mapping, transformation, and validation processes.
  • Operationalize these processes, ensuring consistency in enablement and delivery across a growing team.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data migration & exchange processes to ensure data integrity and performance.
  • Prepare accurate database design and architecture reports for management and executive teams.
  • Oversee the migration of data from legacy systems to new solutions, ensuring minimal disruption to customer operations.
  • Recommend solutions to improve new and existing database systems and migration or exchange processes.
  • Educate staff members and customers through training and individual support on the new SaaS platform.
  • Monitor utilization and actively participate with HR and Management for hiring processes based on capacity needs.
  • Other duties may be assigned. The importance of each duty and/or responsibility may change daily dependent upon related circumstances.

What You'll Need

  • 3+ years related experience leading a highly technical team of US based and offshore resources with similar roles/responsibilities outlined above.
  • 5+ years proven experience as a Data Architect, Data Engineer, Data Migration Specialist, or similar role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • In-depth understanding of database structure principles and data migration best practices.
  • Experience gathering and analyzing system requirements for data migration projects.
  • Knowledge of data mapping, transformation, and validation techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with ETL tools (Boomi, or similar frameworks)
  • Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries
  • Experience with relational databases (Oracle or similar)
  • Ability to design, develop, and maintain data exchange (ETL) processes
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure).

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is (USD $150,000 - $200,000 per year).

The range above reflects the potential base pay across the U.S. for this role (the applicable base pay range will depend on what ultimately is determined to be the candidate's primary work location). Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.
