Altus Group is looking to hire a Data Analyst to join our team. The role of a Data Analyst is to provide intelligence from data / reporting to make faster and more effective decisions that drive business outcomes. Working alongside members of the US Tax Operations team you will assume responsibility for the production, maintenance and support of a suite of operational / financial dashboards and management reports for the US property tax practice and its clients.


Key Responsibilities:

  Research and extract data from various data sources

  
  


• 
  

  Build expertise in searching several database tools

  
  


• 
  

  Extract and organize relevant data points into a standard, ingestible format

  
  


• Collaborating with US Tax leaders and Business Intelligence resources to develop best practices


• Educating and training clients and team members on the use and benefits of Tableau


• Identify, analyze, document and interpret trends or patterns in complex business processes using data analysis software and techniques


• Perform ad-hoc data analysis to enable better understanding of market trends and business performance


• Transforming data and analysis outputs into clear data visualizations and/or reports to communicate findings


• Support writing complex SQL queries and SQL performance tuning


• Support the development and implementation of data marts, data structures, functions, data warehouse fact & dimension tables, views, and indexes

Key Requirements:

• 
  

  2 - 4 years of work experience in a similar position

  
  


• 
  

  Expertise in data manipulation and data cleaning, ideally using at least one of SQL, Python, and/or R

  
  


• 
  

  General knowledge and interest/experience in Finance, Capital markets, Commercial Real Estate and Private Debt Investments.
  Experience with data visualization, creating dashboards in Tableau (strongly preferred)

  
  


• 
  

  Comfort breaking down and attacking open ended (ambiguous) problems with limited direction

  
  


• 
  

  Possess the ability to work in teams and independently

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to merge data from multiple sources into a workable data set and produce a working deliverable

  
  


• 
  

  Able to work with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and refine work processes
