This is a Full-Time/ Direct Hire Opportunity.
We're seeking a candidate with the right industry experience, particularly in agriculture/commodities/Food, to join our dynamic team. If you have a knack for sourcing and negotiating with vendors for nuts, seeds, spices, chocolate, and more, we want to hear from you!
Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
The ideal candidate will have:
3+ years' experience in Purchasing in a food-related industry
Experience negotiating contracts.
Knowledge of supply management, tracking budget expenses, and effective communication in English.
As a BUYER, you will:
Order raw materials using knowledge of material planning and coordinate product deliveries to meet customer needs.
Monitor and control inventory of raw materials, assisting auditors with requested information.
Issue purchase orders, ensuring compliance with established procedures.
Maintain purchasing information, files, and records to ensure documentation availability and regulatory compliance.
Serve as the key contact for suppliers, informing vendors of company requirements and requesting quotations.
Ensure all raw materials and packaging are ordered within specifications, notifying management of changes.
Notify suppliers of non-conforming materials, request corrective actions and credits promptly.
Utilize contract suppliers where applicable, ensuring compliance with contract terms.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and company policies.
Compile and submit information for required reports, including Purchase Order (P.O.) edits and expected P.O. receipt reports.
Provide research and recommendations on goods for manufacturing.
Interview vendors to obtain information on products/services, prices, and delivery dates.
Review bid proposals and enter into contracts within budgetary limitations.
Maintain accurate documentation of transactions and services.
