The Business Travel Sales Manager (BTSM) is a highly motivated individual who will solicit new and existing accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication. This manager is responsible for the development of business transient sales and also handles government and FIT transient market segments for the hotel. He/she prepares correspondence to customers, internal booking reports and is responsible for contact and activity management for all accounts under that responsibility.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deliver on the promise of Sonesta Service in all interactions with guests and clients. Manage according to the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards and instill a passion for customer service in all associates of the hotel.
Manage Corporate Business Travel Sales in a wide variety of industries. Sell guest rooms and services to transient market customers through corporate accounts, consortia, national accounts, travel agencies and individual corporate travel. The manager will also have a focus on FIT and Wholesale accounts for the hotel though Sonesta national accounts, domestic / International agencies and individual travel accounts.
Responsible for proactively developing and maintaining relationships with key clients in order to produce repeat business and while identifying, qualify and solicit new accounts for corporate transient market.
Develop and execute action plans against existing and new target accounts to achieve and exceed sales quotas within the assigned segment.
Prospect and penetrate new accounts for acquisition through a variety of channels.
Convert new accounts into loyal accounts.
Prospect, aggressively solicit, qualify and close business travel opportunities.
Manage hotel's RFP process and ensure accuracy of content in RFP tools such as Lanyon and Sabre.
Represent the Hotel at trade shows, conventions, community events, industry meeting, sales trips and blitzes. Maintain an active presence in the community attending CVB, Chamber of Commerce and Alliance networking events, IPW, GBTA, Florida Huddle and other approved shows/missions/events relevant to these markets.
Solicit, negotiate and book new and repeat business through efforts (outside sales calls, telemarketing, site inspections, entertainment, mailings, networking) to ensure maximization of revenue in order to achieve and/or exceed budgeted transient revenue goals.
Execute a territorial marketing strategy to capture the maximum amount of revenue and meet and ideally exceed sales goals.
Increase visibility of the hotel in the transient market, generating new business within the market.
Build and maintain quantifiable relations in the local market.
Develop and maintain knowledge of market trends, competition and customers.
Prepare and present effective status and month end reports, maintain well-organized documentation and coordination of customer service requirements with hotel operations staff as appropriate.
Work as a team member with the sales and catering staff and with the Sales Coordinator
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of corporate and hotel procedures, products and competition, including their strengths and weaknesses, to continually improve sales strategies and achieve goals.
Professional and positive communication to both guests and fellow employees.
Execute additional projects as assigned by the Director of Sales and Marketing.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Previous background from the hot industry preferred.
Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English; other languages beneficial.
Professional verbal and written communication skills.
Mathematical skills, including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances.
Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities.
Experience with Microsoft Office and Opera systems preferred.
Ability to travel including some overnight travel is required.
Valid driver's license required.
Frequently standing up, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility.
Carrying, lifting or pulling items weighing up to 25 pounds.
Frequently handling objects and equipment.
