About the Opportunity


This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Co., a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [SC00]

As part of the Cellular Mobile and Asset Administration team within the IT organization, the Asset Management Analyst will focus on daily and long-term strategic lifecycle management of hardware and software IT assets. The successful candidate will have working knowledge of hardware and/or software asset management.

Working Environment: Fully Remote Job Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):



  • Create, manage and/or perform life cycle policies and processes for IT assets from acquisition through retirement/disposal
  • Audit IT asset policies and processes; document deficiencies; work with appropriate personnel to remediate deficiencies
  • Help develop and implement processes related to the management of hardware or software assets within the organization
  • Review & approve new hardware or software standards and maintain Service Catalog standard models and prevent duplication
  • Audit asset inventory using IT Asset Management processes, tool and best practices
  • Research inventory data anomalies and resolve using IT asset management policies and best practices
  • Help develop or create IT asset management procedures
  • Analyze data across asset classes, ensuring accurate reporting, and implement remediation where required
  • Work with discovery tools and resources to better manage hardware or software assets
  • Perform vendor or contract management processes
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in Management, Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, or related field. In lieu of a degree 2-4 years of experience in finance or IT asset management will be considered.
  • Certification in hardware or software asset management such as ITAM, IAITAM would be advantageous
  • Data analytics and the ability to review and compile large datasets
  • Highly motivated to work independently and productively, with an aptitude to learn quickly.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a virtual environment with remote colleagues utilizing virtual technologies.
  • Ability to work with third party vendors
  • Core competencies also include interpersonal and communications (written & verbal) skills


Qualifications at advanced levels include all the above, plus:
  • Associate's or BA/BS in Computer Science or related field or 4-6 years of relevant IT asset management experience
  • Intermediate experience in using, maintaining and compiling management information from Asset management tools, particularly SCCM and ServiceNow
  • Intermediate experience developing and implementing IT asset management processes and procedures.
  • Intermediate experience with vendor and contract management

  • Associate's or BA/BS in Computer Science or related field or 6-10 years of relevant IT asset management experience
  • Extensive experience in using, maintaining and compiling management information from Asset management tools, particularly SCCM and ServiceNow
  • Extensive knowledge of IT Asset Management best practices
  • Extensive experience developing and implementing IT asset management processes and procedures.
  • Extensive experience with vendor and contract management.
