Job Description:

SUMMARY:


The is a casual, temporary position that works as needed to provide transportation to University of Richmond's faculty, staff and students.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


Transportation:

  • Able to drive a 12-passenger shuttle and van
  • Able to do safety check on vehicles
  • Knowledge of the Richmond area
  • Able to keep count of passengers as they enter and exit the vehicle
  • Able to use GPS or Maps for travel
  • Able to plan travel routes
  • Able to use handicapped lift
Administration:
  • Able to use an iPad
  • Complete daily paperwork
  • Other administrative duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must complete provided CPR training within 6 months of hire
  • Ability to recognize and report unsafe situations
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft products, such as Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to demonstrate effective communication skills
  • Have a flexible schedule
  • Knowledge of vehicle and driver safety

  • Required: Must have a valid Driver's License and be able to produce a driving record with a minimum of 3 years of driving history in good standing

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GEC is required
  • 3 years of driving van/shuttle

WORK HOURS:

  • Temporary, non-exempt position that works as needed; less than 1,000 hours per year
  • Must be able to work on weeknights and weekends (day or night) when requested
