A local, family-owned distribution company is looking to add an Inventory Control Clerk to their team. The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory records to ensure that stock levels are optimized and to support the smooth operation of the company's supply chain. This role involves tracking inventory levels, reconciling discrepancies, and working closely with other departments to ensure efficient and effective inventory management.
This position is onsite and full time, 8:30am to 5pm Monday to Friday. Upon going permanent, a full benefits package is offered that includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), PTO, and 7 paid holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels to meet company needs while minimizing excess stock.
• Perform regular stock counts and reconcile physical inventory with system records.
• Update inventory records in the company's database or inventory management system.
• Enter inventory data accurately into the system, including receipts, shipments, and adjustments.
• Analyze inventory reports and identify trends or issues that could affect stock levels.
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of inventory.
• Prepare and process purchase orders as needed.
• Verify that received goods match purchase orders and inspect for quality.
• Generate and review inventory reports to provide insights into stock levels and trends.
• Report discrepancies, shortages, or excesses to management and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure that inventory is stored properly and that stock conditions meet company standards.
• Conduct periodic audits and investigations to resolve inventory discrepancies.
• Work closely with warehouse staff, purchasing departments, and other relevant teams to support inventory accuracy and availability.
• Assist with inventory-related training and guidance for new employees.
• Address inventory-related inquiries from internal departments or external customers promptly and professionally.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or relevant coursework in business or logistics preferred.
• Previous experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a related field is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to analyze data and generate reports.
• Ability to lift and move items up to [weight limit] pounds.
• Capability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.
