Position Summary

Brief Description of PSU/School/Dept SHAC is an AAAHC-accredited, multidisciplinary health center comprised of a medical clinic, counseling clinic, dental clinic, and health promotion and education department. The HS medical care team includes physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, medical assistants, student assistants and clinical support staff. Position Summary SHAC is seeking one full time provider position to be filled by either an NP/PA (this position), or a MD/DO (see posting D96100), OR a part time MD/DO (see posting D98736).

Primary responsibilities include providing direct medical care to patients. In addition, there are minimal, shared, after-hours duties to cover the on-call phone and other urgent provider tasks.

Minimum Qualifications from Classification Physician Assistant: Possession of a valid Oregon license as a Physician Assistant and successful completion of the national certification exam.

Nurse Practitioner: Current Oregon license as a Registered Nurse and possession of a valid certification as a Nurse Practitioner issued by the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
Additional Minimum Qualifications for this Position
  • Must be a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner or board certified Physician Associate with an unencumbered Oregon license as a FNP or PA.
  • FNP or PA from and approved accredited school in the corresponding discipline.
  • Active, unencumbered Oregon License(s) to practice as a FNP or PA.
  • Active board Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Associate.
  • At least 5 years experience in primary care.
  • Current DEA license.
Preferred Qualifications Bilingual/multilingual FNP or PA who is experienced with trauma-informed care and working with patients of diverse cultural backgrounds.

Previous college health experience.

  • IUD & Nexplanon insertion and removal
  • Wound repair
  • Skin biopsies
  • Draining I & D abscesses
  • Experience with Colposcopies
  • Experience with eating disorders
  • Gender affirming care & treatment
  • Treatment/Counseling for STI’s
  • Sexual assault examinations
  • Medication Abortion care experience
  • Collaborating and consulting with RN’s following nursing standing orders
  • Experience with reading X-rays
  • Travel health
  • Infectious diseases
  • Sports related injuries
  • Electronic medical record experience
  • practice under the regulations set forth by the Oregon Board of Nursing (FNP) or Oregon Board of Medicine (PA)

Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement The starting hourly salary rate for this position will be between $43.32 and $49.94. The starting salary may be negotiable above this range, however it will be dependent upon the knowledge, experience, skills and abilities of the chosen candidate, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR. PSU’s excellent benefits package includes 95% premium paid healthcare; a generous retirement and vacation package; and reduced tuition rates for employee, spouse or dependent at any of the Oregon Public Universities
