Summary: This position performs collections and prepares specimens for routine testing in the laboratory.


We are currently looking for full-time Senior Laboratory Technician

Hourly rate $22.00


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the laboratory – under the supervision of the Lab Director
  • Performs screening tests, including routine calibration and quality control
  • Prepares solutions and reagents for analyzer
  • Performs and documents routine maintenance and troubleshooting of instrumentation
  • Compile and present results of tests and analyses in LIMS
  • Perform specimen collection as needed while maintaining strict chain of custody protocols
  • Maintain inventory of reagents and supplies for analyzer
  • Communicate with caseworkers, clients and support staff regarding test results/reports
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe laboratory environment and prevent contamination
  • Participate in required training
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Associate degree from an accredited college/university preferred; and/or at least one to three years of related experience and/or training working in a laboratory, ideally in a toxicology or medical environment
  • Experience or knowledge of analyzers used for drug screening
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and oral)
  • Ability to work with a diverse population
  • Proficient in Chrome, Microsoft Office and Laboratory Information Systems
