Job Overview:
The Manager, Infrastructure Engineering is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s technology infrastructure, both on-premises and in the cloud. This role ensures that all systems, including servers, storage, networking, and IT operations, run efficiently and securely. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of modern infrastructure environments, including hybrid infrastructures spanning both the cloud and on-premises, and a strategic approach to managing both day-to-day operations and long-term growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Vendor Management
Experience managing a cross functional network of vendors, MSPs and service providers to deliver reliable infrastructure solutions
Infrastructure Management:
Lead the management and maintenance of on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, and networking components.
Design and implement scalable, resilient, and secure infrastructure solutions to support business operations.
Manage hybrid environments (on-premises and cloud) to optimize performance, cost, and security.
Cloud and On-Premise Systems:
Ensure effective integration and management of cloud platforms (e.g., Azure Google Cloud) with on-premises systems.
Oversee cloud migration projects and ensure data integrity and service continuity throughout the process.
Maintain a balanced approach to using cloud vs. on-prem resources, understanding their unique advantages.
IT Operations:
Supervise daily IT operations, ensuring optimal performance of critical systems and minimizing downtime.
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for infrastructure and operations, driving continuous improvements.
Collaborate with other IT and business units to align technology infrastructure with company goals.
Security and Compliance:
Work closely with the security team to implement security best practices for on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO/IEC 27001).
Proactively identify and mitigate risks in the technology infrastructure, with a focus on data security and system uptime.
Leadership and Strategy:
Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation.
Develop and manage budgets for technology infrastructure, ensuring cost-effective solutions that support business growth.
Stay updated on the latest technology trends and recommend strategic initiatives to improve infrastructure efficiency and scalability.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or 10+ years experience.
7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. This should include 3+ Years of Network Engineering and 3+ Years of Systems Engineering experience, and experience with Cisco Meraki and Fortinet networking solutions
Strong understanding of routing and switching, including at least one network certification, ideally Cisco CCNA/CCNP or Equivalent (JNCIA), Fortinet NSE4 certification is a plus
Extensive knowledge of both on-premises and cloud infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, and virtualization technologies, with at least 3 years of Azure Cloud infrastructure and services experience
Strong understanding of IT operations, including monitoring, incident management, and disaster recovery.
Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.

Device Management: Experience with Intune and Autopilot for device management
Cybersecurity: Familiarity with Microsoft Defender, E5 security suite, and other cybersecurity tools
Project Management: Demonstrated ability to lead IT system upgrades and optimizations
Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
