The iconic Waldorf Astoria property in New Orleans, The Roosevelt , is seeking an IRD Order taker to join the Food and Beverage Team!
This luxury hotel offers an unparalleled combination of Southern hospitality, world-class service and historic surroundings. As the centerpiece of the city, the hotel is located near the French Quarter and within walking distance to the city's most vibrant attractions and entertainment, including Jackson Square, Bourbon Street and the Arts & Warehouse District.
Embodying the rich heritage of Southern hospitality, this historic hotel features 504 rooms, over 60,000 square feet of meeting space, and five (5) food and beverage outlets. This includes 2 restaurants, a café, seasonal rooftop bar, and in-room dining.
In this role you will be responsible for answering the room Service phone, taking guestorders accurately in a helpful, friendly, courteous and professional manner to ensure total guest satisfaction. Upsells sides, desserts and beverages to enhance profitability. Enters order into computerized system and settles check upon delivery of the order.
PECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations and service standards.
Knowledge of all menu items and accompaniments.
Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
Basic knowledge of the English language sufficient to understand inquiries from customers and communicate preparation methods, ability to comprehend written product labelling instructions to enable the safe application of products and processes within the hotel.
Ability to operate a keyboard to input Point of Sale procedures to pre-check, input order and close out the check.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
EDUCATION
High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Previous customer service, telephone and cashiering experience preferred.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES
Food Service Sanitation certification.
GROOMING/UNIFORMS
All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. Specific uniform guidelines and/or required articles of clothing will be explained to you as a part of the orientation process.
