The Opportunity
This role will support the Accounting Manager in the execution of day-to-day accounting functions, month end closing process, and daily/weekly/monthly financial reporting. You will be responsible for reviewing multiple P&Ls for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with US GAAP.
This is a hybrid position and can be based out of our Merrillville, IN or Chicago, IL office!
Key Job Responsibilities
Support general ledger monthly close process
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial information to ensure compliance with Global Accounting Policies and GAAP
Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
Support audit processes
Cash management and bank reconciliations
Manage and analyze fixed asset module, including depreciation schedules
Prepare and analyze monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Preparation of financial reports for department and management use
Lease management
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finance is required
6+ years of progressive experience in accounting role
Proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, and IF formulas)
Hands on, takes initiative, is actionable, and follows up
Ability to work independently, multitask, prioritize tasks, and stay organized
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience utilizing ERP (SAP) is a plus
