Custodial Lead

Provide generalized and specialized custodial project cleaning services to university buildings on a daily basis for university facilities in a team setting. Project locations and tasks vary. Assist with coordinating work for the project team with direction from senior management and functional supervision from. Respond to emergencies in Custodial Units as needed. Serve as a lead worker and perform custodial services as assigned; secure assigned buildings; respond to special cleaning and set-up requests; schedule work activities to meet set priorities and unexpected clean-ups while adhering to scheduling needs. Provide functional supervision including training, verifying attendance, coordinating coverage for absent workers and special set-up activities, review work, report performance deficiencies to the appropriate Maintenance Unit Supervisor and report building maintenance needs to SOS. Access information utilizing desktop applications. May operate University vehicle. Promote a culture of service excellence that encourages safety first as well as actively engaging in learning and practicing principles of social justice and inclusion, environmental sustainability and deliver a great customer experience.
High school diploma and two years' related experience to include customer service required. Ability to read, write, and speak English required. Ability to successfully complete ten-hour OSHA training on construction, safety, and health issues required. Basic computer skills required. Valid driver 's license or ability to obtain and driver's check may be required. Lifting of up to 50 lbs. and pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs. occasionally required. Specific physical requirements may apply based on specific job functions. Initial employment contingent upon successful completion of physical screening. Effective interpersonal skills. 5% increase internal, $20.25-$20.75/hour external
Bargaining Unit Position - United Electrical Workers, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), A probationary period may be required for current UVM employees, 40 hour work week, A probationary period may be required, Background Check required for this position, A post-offer pre-employment (POPE test) physical examination is required
