Tays inc. is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Software Engineer III to join our team in the Fort Meade, MD area.
*This is a Full-Time 100% on site opportunity*
Primary Responsibilities:
Cyber Security and development expertise to design, test, implement, and manage safeguards against cyberattacks of the system to include Identify, mitigate, and resolve vulnerabilities within existing security systems
Work directly with penetration testers to perform penetration tests and assess potential security problems
Develop organization wide security measures. Prepare performance reports and communicate system status to keep users and leadership informed. Maintain quality service by following organization standards, attending educational workshops for increased technical knowledge, and reviewing publications
Responsible for designing, engineering, analyzing, and develops software systems
Designs, analyzes, and develops the software delivery processes (including DevOps pipelines)
Models and analyzes the software development and deployment processes
Engages with Government leaders in defining the context, problem space, and vision to determine capabilities, priorities, roadmaps, Transformation Plans, and next steps
Develops Agile processes, plans, and architectures to support software development, analysis, and operations
Supervises and mentors subordinate project
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have an active TS/SCI security clearance
Bachelor's degree
5+ years of position-relevant work experience
DoD 8570.01-m IAT Level II (Security+ CE Certification)
Experience with C, C#, C++, SQL, or Java
Experience with Jira, Confluence, and GIT
Experience and knowledge of operating software programs, configuring hardware devices and develop critical procedural steps
Strong knowledge in a Linux environment developing and managing code requiring hands on experience with Linux internals along with Python (interpreted language) and C (compiled language)
Knowledge with applications to complete tasks with underlying systems that run devices and control network
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer
Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with embedded system vulnerability development
Experience working within a Scrum team or agile environment
