Under limited supervision, the Business Accounts Manager serves as a coordinator or specialist for the agency. They will work directly under the Accounting Director. This position serves as the main point of contact in all matters related to accounting concerns and needs. It handles inquiries and requests from internal and external partners, stays on top of accounts and making sure invoices are paid and/or sent, meets regularly with other team members to discuss budgets and funding, and keeps track of any contracts made through the agency.

Job Duties: Responsible for payments to vendors, deposits, receivables, and journal entries for over 75 unique business units for general, cash, and federal funds. Works with Administrative Services procurement to create contracts as needed for the agency. Responsible for assuring payrolls are processed accurately by working with Shared Services. Works closely with the directors of the Victim Assistance Grants Division and Information Services Division to track expenditures and make payments from federal sub-grants awarded to the agency



Requirements / Qualifications




Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in public or business administration, accounting or any discipline related to the work assigned. One year of experience in planning, organizing, and implementing program administrative or business financial functions. Experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.



Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree in business administration, accounting, finance or related field and three years business related experience. Related work experience may substitute for the Bachelors degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.



Other: Regular and Reliable attendance is required. This position requires travel. As such, the incumbent must be able to present a valid driver's license or another form of reliable transportation.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



Knowledge of: business practices, methods and systems; general accounting systems; state accounting policies and procedures; state purchasing processes, policies and procedures; inventory methods; personnel practices, policies and procedures; agency rules, regulations, policies and procedures.


Ability to: communicate effectively; establish positive working relationships with all contacts; supervise and direct others; identify and resolve problems; read, understand, interpret and apply rules and regulations, policies and procedures, etc.; prepare various budget, financial and administrative reports using computer software applications (such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Enterprise 1, etc.)
