The Shahid Mukhtar Lab in the Department of Genetics and Biochemistry at Clemson University is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher to join our team. This position is funded through a previously awarded NSF grant and offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative research environment. The postdoc will primarily focus on understanding transcriptional gene regulation at the single-cell level in diverse plants, including Arabidopsis and soybean. The postdoc will collaborate with the PI to develop a personalized research program, while contributing to the lab's goals. This position is currently supported for up to three years, with the possibility of further support for additional postdoctoral study.

The Shahid Mukhtar Lab, within the Department of Genetics and Biochemistry within the College of Science at Clemson University, is dedicated to exploring the intricacies of gene regulation and plant biology using cutting-edge single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) and spatial technologies to understand plant resilience to diverse stresses.
Clemson University is an R1 institution located in beautiful Clemson, SC on Lake Hartwell, at the base of the Blue Ridge mountains. The city of Greenville, SC is 30 minutes away and there are 5 national forests within a 2-hour drive!

This position requires a Ph.D. in biology, genetics, genomics, or a related field. Experience with molecular biology assays, particularly single-cell sequencing, is preferred but not required. We are pleased to assist the post-doc in developing the necessary skills.
