Job Description:

Job Purpose:



Manage the infrastructure development team to create and redesign broad technical infrastructure and information systems that define how servers, networks and storage systems work together to support the needs of the organization. Document current state architecture, design ideal state architecture and develop plans and solutions to deploy new solutions that meet emerging business needs. Ensure stability and scalability, anticipating capacity growth through careful planning and awareness of trends.



Job Responsibilities:



Define strategy for an enterprise architecture function that embeds digital assets and capabilities, supporting the design and implementation of digital strategy and organization, process, and policies. Lead analysis, evaluation, and development of enterprise long-term strategic and operating plans to ensure that the enterprise architecture is synchronized with ever-changing business needs and the complexity of digital transformation., Develop a strategic architecture plan ensuring data features are prioritized appropriately, estimates are reliable, benefits can be realized, and design activities are proactively monitored and tracked to meet planned time frames and the overall architecture plan., Develop the most complex existing and new applications by analyzing and identifying areas for modification and improvement. Develop new applications to meet customer requirements., Direct and oversee infrastructure developments and maintenance to ensure business requirements can be met., Evaluate the capabilities of staff within the department to identify gaps and prioritize development activities. Implement the organization's formal development frameworks within the area of responsibility. Coach and mentor others to support the development of the organization's talent pool., Identify and communicate the actions needed to implement the function's strategy and business plan within the business area or department; explain the relationship to the broader organization's mission, vision and values; motivate people to commit to these and to doing extraordinary things to achieve local business goals., Identify new external developments and / or emerging issues within an area of technology or business function and evaluate their potential impact on, or usefulness to, the organization., Identify the requirement for and participate in the selection of external consultants or advisors to deliver key projects and/or ad hoc services; ensure business objectives and requirements are clearly understood and monitor outcomes, taking appropriate remedial action where necessary., Lead the development and implementation of strategy for a significant area of responsibility, anticipating complex issues, challenges, and opportunities, and ensuring integration with wider corporate strategy., Manage and report on performance within the department or area of responsibility; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports and hold them accountable for achieving these; take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of annual business objectives., Manage budget plans for a department; could involve development or delivery (or both)., Take responsibility for developing and delivering a key element of the organization's data management system.



Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications:

• Ensures alignment of IT and business strategy across Veritiv and in every IT decision, action, and roadmap


• Leads and delivers strategy to position Veritiv as a digital business and to redefine customer experience


• Leverages new technologies to drive innovation


• Assumes ownership of the Veritiv Architecture Methods, Work Packages and Project Assessment and Delivery Process


• Challenges and redirects architectural decisions that do not support Veritiv's desired architectures or are not aligned with general and domain architecture principles


• Collaborates with stakeholders to develop the case for strategic investments necessary to support architectural decisions


• Ensures that solutions are aligned with an architected, planned environment in order to: reduce complexities, promote controls and standards, and enforce common methods


• Shapes business group thinking regarding architecture possibilities


• Creates, reviews, and delivers strategy to drive technology innovation across the Veritiv


• Collaborates with other leads to integrate innovative technologies and processes across the enterprise

Work Experience:



Substantial general work experience together with comprehensive job related experience in own area of expertise to fully competent level. (Over 6 years to 10 years )
• Experience of supervising and directing people and other resources to achieve specific end results within limited timeframes (13 months to 3 years)



Education:

• Bachelor's Degree
