The University of Miami Health System, Miller School of Medicine is initiating a search for a Hepatologist at the Assistant/Associate Professor of Medicine level.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Provide direct outpatient care to Hepatology patients primarily at the University of Miami Hospital and Clinics
Perform routine endoscopic services on Hepatology patients
Provide inpatient care, on a rotating basis on a APP run Hepatology Service
Participate in on call rotation
There are opportunities to initiate and participate in clinical research studies
Teaching of residents and fellows
DESIRED QUALIFIATIONS:
MD/DO Degree
ACGME US Internal Medicine residency
BE/BC in Internal Medicine
BE/BC in Gastroenterology
BE/BC in Transplant Hepatology encouraged
Valid unrestricted Florida Medical License or eligible to apply (must have license prior to credentialing)
Must be able to provide prerequisite case logs for procedures for prior two years for credentialing
Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures and techniques
Must maintain CME to meet institutional and state licensing requirements
Must have excellent clinical knowledge and experience to provide safe and quality care to patients and meet institutional standards of care
Current BLS certification required. ACLS
Valid DEA licensure
