The Sr. EHS Specialist for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for ensuring our associates are able to return each day to help us in our mission in healthcare.
This position is part of the Diagnostics US Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) department and reports to the EHS Manager responsible for the safety of our Miami Manufacturing and Research and Development associates. The position is located in the greater Miami area, with locations in Kendall and Hialeah and will be onsite daily
and will focus on conducting risk assessments on processes, equipment, and chemicals, identify compliance concerns, program non-conformities and opportunities for improvement.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Analyze key performance indicators to implement initiatives and provide EHS site support for internal customers including manufacturing and research & development laboratories.
Identify opportunities to minimize risks and prevent workplace injuries; work with cross-functional teams to drive projects and support continuous improvement initiatives
Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis and after-action reviews; communicating/influencing process owners to develop and implement corrective actions and engineering controls as needed.
Drive the site environmental programs, such as waste, storage tanks and stormwater pollutions, including hands on involvement with EPA requirements.
Conduct EHS audits, self-assessments, inspections and trainings on corporate EHS standards and initiatives to ensure workplace conditions comply with internal policies, program requirements and applicable local, state, and national regulations.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, safety engineering, safety management, occupational health, or related discipline with 5+ years of experience including 2+ years' manufacturing environment experience
Demonstrated working knowledge of federal/state regulatory requirements or equivalent regulations in the safety and environmental discipline such as: RCRA, OSHA, EPA, FDEP, DERM, DOT, etc. and capable of learning ongoing requirements
Experience in ISO regulated manufacturing industry or similar highly regulated manufacturing environment, preferably ISO13485 knowledge
Proven ability to effectively communicate EHS requirements to ensure stakeholders understand potential risk and loss.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) and/or DOT Hazmat Ground Shipper certifications.
Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) first responder operations level.
