We are seeking undergraduate sophomores and junior students working towards a degree Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or a related field for a 10-Week Student Intern role with 3 openings in Frederick, MD for a June 2nd - August 8th contract period.
Position Duties:
Site Operations:
Edit and execute red lines from drawings to produce final renderings.
Manage projects with a focus on safety, timeline, and budget.
Sustainability Engineering:
The intern with lead/participate in one or more sustainability projects for 2025.
Understand Carbon footprint for the FMC site and how is impacts AZ biologics and operations
Understand water consumption and how the use is impacted by production increases
Understand program on how FMC plans to get to Carbon Zero for 2026 and carbon negative for 2030
Process Engineering:
Documenting business processes of the Process Engineering group.
Analyze the effectiveness of clean in place / steam in place routines.
Build PowerBI dashboards to represent the data collected.
Position Requirements:
Undergraduate sophomores and junior students working towards a degree Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or a related field
**Candidates must have an expected graduation date after August 2025.
Relevant course work such as Fluid Dynamics, Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, or Sustainability.
Understanding of the biologics manufacturing process, Upstream or Downstream is a plus.
Software exposure to PowerBI, Excel, Visio is required (Process Engineering).
Enthusiasm for collaboration, cross-functional projects, public speaking, and presentation design.
US Work Authorization is required at time of application.
Applicants must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa (e.g., CPT, H1-B, F-1 (OPT), TN, or other non-immigrant status). This role will not be providing CPT or OPT support.
Ability to report onsite to Frederick, MD 5 days a week. This role will not provide relocation assistance, and local candidates will be prioritized.
Minimum grade point average of 3.0
