JOB TITLE: Human Resources and Recruiting Supervisor
Work Schedule and Location:
Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with two 30-minute breaks (Total of 45 Hours)
Location: Frederick, MD
Basic Function:
The Human Resources Supervisor will oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the HR department, including staff recruitment, payroll support, benefits and leave management, and ensuring compliance with company policies and practices.
Essential Duties:
Recruitment and Onboarding
Develop and implement recruitment and selection strategies for team members
Manage job advertisements as requested, ensuring communication with department managers about open positions
Review resumes and applications, conduct initial phone screenings, and coordinate with managers for interviews
Administer background checks and insurance driving verifications
Conduct new hire orientations, including paperwork and handbook review
Support diversity initiatives by maintaining equal opportunity programs
Monitor staffing levels to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives
Benefits Management
Assist in administering benefit programs, including health, retirement, disability, and unemployment insurance
Ensure accurate and timely processing of enrollments and benefit changes
Provide new hires with benefit information and guidance on enrollment and fulfillment
Organize and manage the yearly open enrollment process in partnership with brokers
Human Resources Management
Interpret FMLA and ADA policies related to leave of absences and disabilities
Monitor and evaluate company culture, identifying any changes that may impact organizational goals
Generate reports related to HR data such as turnover rates, recruitment statuses, and employee demographics
Maintain and update HR systems, including event logs (compliments, warnings, grievances), employee files, performance records, and system administration
Oversee performance management processes, including creating KPI packets, ensuring fair reviews, and adhering to company policies
Provide training and support to managers for effective employee performance management, including coaching, discipline, and grievance resolution
Operations and Payroll Support
Verify weekly leave submissions and submit reports to payroll and timekeeping
Provide payroll with updates on pay changes and benefits adjustments
Assist with accident, incident, and injury inquiries, as well as 401(k) communications, license renewals, and offboarding processes
Support the receptionist with additional tasks and ensure proper oversight of front-office operations
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
Ability to ensure compliance with EEO/AA laws and document adherence to these regulations
Experience with operations procedures, policies, and strategies
Professional written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization
Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
