A Day in the Life
In this exciting role as a manufacturing engineer, you will have responsibility of supporting a production line that builds cardiovascular combination products. The Cardiovascular portfolio is Medtronic's oldest and largest product group and helps patients all over the globe. This is an in-person role in Fridley, MN on a high performing team of 15+ manufacturing engineers. Candidate must be willing to relocate if they do not currently reside within a reasonable commuting distance.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:


  • Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for the assembly of combination products that support cardiovascular therapies.

  • Implements and monitors improvements to reduce production scrap.

  • Investigates and dispositions nonconforming product.

  • Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.

  • Develops and maintains manufacturing processes through the use of statistical process control

  • Provides guidance regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

  • Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for product manufacture.

  • Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements -

  • Bachelor's Degree with 2+ years of engineering experience (or an advanced degree with 0+ years of experience).

Nice to Have -


  • Operations/Manufacturing experience

  • Experience working in a high regulated industry (e.g. medical device, pharmaceutical, avionics, automotive)

  • Experience with problem solving methodologies (e.g. DMAIC)

  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Experience with statistical software (JMP, Minitab)

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$79,200.00 - $118,800.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
