TMS - Program Manager (Superuser)
Position overview
The TMS Program Manager will be responsible for supporting the strategy and execution (standup) of the TMS Implementation & Deployment Strategy. In addition, the TMS Program Manager is responsible for developing & deploying Process Improvements, as well as ensuring a global governance to the Program.
In this role, you will play a vital role in the implementation and support of the TMS. This role is a part of the Deliver Transportation COE team and will work in an international environment together with colleagues based in EMEA, Americas, APAC/GC. This role offers an exciting blend of tech management and Business process solutioning across the Global Supply Chain.
This role is accountable for transportation TMS training within the organization, including setting the training strategy in partnership with Knowledge Management, ensuring regional teams have the support to train new hires and to deploy supplemental training as needed.
Additionally, this role is responsible for process improvement opportunities within the TMS Program and will work the different functional teams to prioritize initiatives aligning with the current MDT strategy, and oversees projects owned by the process improvement team.

System Management & Maintenance:


  • Support the requirements and Information gathering to support TMS Design and Implementation

  • Oversee and maintain the TMS platform, ensuring its effective functionality and integration with other systems/applications

  • Manage, Support & maintain business owned master data in the TMS

  • Configure the TMS software to meet our business needs and requirements

  • Provide TMS expertise to challenge, support, enable, implement and improve business performance and processes.

  • Follow up on deviations, solve logistical errors and apply long-term solutions

  • Support application change requests together with business stakeholders

  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or errors related to the TMS software, such as data integrity, connectivity, and functionality

  • Provide technical support and guidance to end users of the TMS software

  • Collaborate with other IT staff and TMS vendor Software representatives to ensure the smooth integration and operation of the TMS software with other systems and applications

  • Stay updated on the latest features and enhancements of the TMS and recommend improvements or upgrades as needed

Carrier Rate, Route & Integration


  • Initial Standup & Deployment of all Carrier Connectivity

  • Initial Standup of all route and rate maintenance, including ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting

  • Manage and maintain strategy by carrier for collaboration & connectivity, including trouble shooting and problem solving where solutions need to be enhanced

  • Collaborative Contract Lifecycle Management within TMS: In partnership with Indirect Supply Management, regional teams and LCC/Planner day to day execution.

  • Supports Budget Management and Carrier Alignment by accurately aligning system rate / route load and performing testing as needed to ensure accuracy and alignment.

  • Provide FP&A Support

  • Compliance and Procedures: Work alongside carrier performance team to ensure compliance to contract, develop procedures, and maintain accurate records.

  • Systematic Updates: Maintain precise and updated contract records within the systems, enhancing accessibility and accuracy of information.

  • Pricing Guidance and Contract Support: Provide pricing guidance, contract support, and facilitate setups.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate for operational excellence with cross-functional teams.

  • Identifies carrier's ability to connect

Continuous Improvement:


  • Support Process improvement initiatives that enhance day to day execution

  • Capturing business requirements and translating into actionable system configuration changes which drive efficiency

  • Participate in and support investigations, pre-studies and User Acceptance tests driven by needed changes

  • Work closely with IT and vendor support teams to implement and test new features

User Training & Support:


  • Act as the first point of contact for TMS-related issues, providing support and solutions as needed

  • Help support SOPs and Work Instructions for TMS Users

  • Assist team with the know-how to utilize the TMS efficiently and effectively, ensuring smooth internal operations

Must Have: Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelors degree required

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in transportation/logistics , or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in transportation/logistics

Nice to Have:


  • Experience implementing and configuring TMS systems

  • Team Oriented

  • Experience working in or implementing Blueyonder TMS desirable, but not required

  • Technical / Analytics Skills

  • Ability to prioritize in a high demanding area

  • Ability to develop and maintain cross-functional and global networks

  • Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities

  • Good communication and cooperative skills

  • Desire to Learn/curiosity to fully understand & solve

  • Customer Service oriented

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$92,800.00 - $139,200.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
