We are seeking a full-time Aviation Sales & Marketing Intern in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting department Directors, Sales Managers, and their customers in the daily activities and administration required to market, sell, and support both our OEM and Aftermarket products. The position will encompass daily interaction with various departments internally to support sales and marketing initiatives and additional responsibilities include tradeshow planning and preparation, general departmental administration, and organization, as well as other duties and special projects as assigned.
Essential Functions
Assist in successful execution of tradeshows, industry events, in person seminars, webinars, and other events, including logistical planning and content creation
Collect, distribute, organize, update, and manage digital content efforts, including product images for marketing ads, customer facing presentations, and website material
Support Sales Managers/Directors with development/execution of marketing, advertising, and promotional activities
Work with Garmin's internal Marketing Communications department to create, review and execute updates to website/promotional materials
Assist in developing well-organized/informative product presentations, seminars and webinars in this highly motivated internship
Become knowledgeable on Garmin products and learn competitive landscape of the different markets Garmin serves
Assist Directors/Sales Managers in analyzing sales data that can be utilized in projecting future forecasts
Work with Directors/Sales Managers on sales reporting and analysis, including ad-hoc and recurring monthly projects
Basic Qualifications
Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Management
Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
Must possess a Private Pilot's License and be an active pilot
Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office, particularly Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
Must be detail-oriented, have the ability to work proactively/effectively with minimal supervision, ability to prioritize/multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment, and have superior organizational/analytical skills with keen attention to detail/quality
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Desired Qualifications
1 year of sales experience
Some familiarity with Garmin avionics
General understanding of the avionics competitive landscape, products and systems
Instrument rating
Commercial Pilot's License
