Position Summary: Identify and implement engineering solutions and improvements in equipment and processes for maintenance reliability.Provide operations and maintenance engineering, technical assistance, and maintenance project leadership and support.
Key Responsibilities:
Initiates elemental engineering studies into equipment/process failures and presents details of the analysis
Gathers and examines basic reliability data from field studies or data base and correlates the data for analysis using well defined engineering techniques/principles/procedures.
Works toward increasing safety, productivity and product quality by improving the reliability of electrical and instrumentation infrastructure and process control systems
Coordinates new installations and modifications to achieve project performance objectives and cost, schedule and safety requirements.
Utilizes a priority system in achieving capital effectiveness to "do the right projects right."
Develops engineering designs, plans, specifications and cost estimates, complying with corporate standards and sound engineering practices. Ensures that new and proven technology is implemented.
Provides engineering technical assistance and support across all Mill units.
Provides training and resources for maintenance tradespersons.
Manages and coordinates outside contractors and vendors. Serve as the company rep for same.
Support operations & maintenance coordinators as needed for back up and weekend coverage.
Technical Requirements:
BS degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent education and experience in pulp & paper or related manufacturing experience.
Knowledge of equipment/process systems and equipment selection. Provox, Delta V, Allen-Bradley drives and PLC, NFPA 70E, high/medium voltage power distribution experience desired.
Strong written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate project and technical activities across all levels of the company.
General knowledge of pulp and papermaking processes.
