Position Overview: A Facilities Technician performs a wide variety of routine building and grounds maintenance tasks. This includes, but is not limited to, carpentry work, painting, repair work as well as landscaping and grounds maintenance. This position also provides guidance to service contractors and monitors their work. Must be able to complete a variety of tasks with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities and Duties : (*Indicates an Essential Function)
*Performs minor carpentry work, drywall repairs, including replacing ceiling tiles throughout facility and indoor/outdoor painting of walls, doors, handrails etc.
*Performs various landscaping duties such as pulling weeds, weed whacking, raking and grounds clean-up.
*Moves heavy furniture, supplies and miscellaneous equipment, using appropriate assistance when necessary.
*Clears snow and ice from walkways, steps, roof drains, overhangs and HVAC equipment.
*Performs various cleaning/organizing tasks such as sweeping, removing debris from roofs as well as organizing material and equipment as needed.
*Completes scheduled rounds to inspect building, structures and grounds to identify areas needing repair.
*Requests quotes and submits requisitions for various facility repairs. Oversees repair work, providing on-site guidance and monitoring work performed.
*Oversees facility services such as lawn care, janitorial and snow removal.
*Installs and reconfigures modular office components (e.g. furniture, cubicles, storage bins, file cabinets, etc.) to accommodate user needs.
*Assist facilities engineer with ordering supplies, finding leaks, tracing utility lines, taking measurements, etc.
*Follows safety guidelines (PPE, etc.) and demonstrates safe work practices.
Overtime may be required, based on business need; regular attendance required.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalency required.
Four or more years of related experience within a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
Ability to work with minimal supervision; self-directed with high level of initiative and strong work ethic required.
Ability to read and comprehend blueprints as they relate to buildings and grounds.
Math skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
Ability to safely use a wide variety of hand and power tools.
Basic plumbing skills a plus.
Experience with repairing drywall beneficial.
Demonstrated process and project management capability strongly preferred.
Proficient computer skills (Internet, MS Office, AutoCAD experience a plus) and office equipment (calculators, copiers, etc.) experience required.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to lead others.
Possess the ability to react to changes of responsibility throughout the day.
Must have the flexibility to respond to multiple assignments.
Ability to work nights and weekends to cover assigned projects.
Ability to operate a fork truck a plus.
