Holman has a great opportunity for a Quality Assurance Inspector to join our team in Kansas City, MO.



  • Shift: Monday to Thursday 3:30 pm to 2:00 am.


  • 4 day workweek


  • 10% shift premium




What will you do?



  • Perform detailed inspections to verify workmanship, build alignment, and operational performance of completed vehicles, ensuring compliance with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical standards.

  • Assess installed components to confirm proper functionality, finish, and install accuracy before final delivery.

  • Inspect vehicles for quality defects both OEM and upfit related for reporting and repair prior to delivery.

  • Examine manufactured assemblies (like utility bodies and cab guards) for structural defects such as cracks, rust, and wear, and document findings for repair.

  • Examine paint for defects such as chips, cracks, and shade variances, ensuring decals are correctly placed and aligned according to customer specifications.

  • Conduct vehicle pre-delivery inspections (PDI) per OEM specifications and Holman process requirements, which may include topping off fluids and vehicle programming prior to delivery.

  • Use checklists to ensure a comprehensive inspection process; ensuring the completion of all work order items and confirming all installation aspects are finalized.

  • Forward significant issues or findings to the Installation Lead with proper documentation.

  • Document the vehicle condition through photos and the completion of necessary verification forms.

  • Record and analyze defective equipment, errors, and variations to assist in training shop employees.

  • Adhere to safety policies and cleanliness standards, exercising caution when operating and moving large parts with lifting systems.

  • Monitor adherence to safety protocols and address any deviations promptly.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to quality excellence and customer satisfaction, striving to exceed expectations in every inspection conducted.

  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.




What are we looking for?



  • 2-4+ years' experience in a similar role within the automotive industry, such as an automotive technician, mechanic, or quality inspector.

  • Experience in quality inspection process, including use of inspection tools and equipment to assess mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems preferred.

  • Valid driver's license required.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Additional education, certifications, or related experience is generally preferred: OEM certification, associate degree in auto maintenance and repair, etc.

  • ASE certifications are considered a plus: E1, E2, and E3.

  • Detail oriented with a strong proficiency in vehicle mechanics.

  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.

  • Self-motivated, independent, and reliable with a strong work ethic.

  • Must be able to work in multiple environments - shop, outside in all types of weather conditions, as well as in an office.

  • Proficiency in various desktop tools including MS Office Programs (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, SharePoint etc.) is a plus

Pay:



We offer competitive wages that are commensurate with job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and geographic location, starting in the range of $19.02 - $25.68 USD per hour.
