Key Responsibilities:


Tropicana Brands Group is looking for a highly qualified Utility Operator to support the Supply Chain team to ensure the company's goals and initiatives are met.


This role will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing utilities systems and related control equipment; and providing support to maintenance department in completing maintenance activities. Tropicana is looking for a critical thinker with exceptional communication, influencing and relationship management skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment.


Additional Responsibilities:



  • Troubleshoot and repair utilities systems and related control equipment

  • Provide support to maintenance department in completing maintenance activities

  • Complete inspections for the Process Safety Management and Preventative Maintenance programs

  • Lead the emergency response team activities per incident command procedures

  • Establish utilities systems maintenance routines, procedures, frequencies and schedules with assistance from supervisor or engineer

  • Take an active role in the plant and departmental safety, environmental and PSM programs

  • Contact outside vendors for required maintenance or parts fabrication; provide specifications as required

  • All other duties as assigned by management


Requirements:



  • High school diploma or GED

  • 2-5 years experience in operation and maintenance of utilities systems such as; boilers, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration, wastewater treatment, and water filtration


  • CARO Certified Assistant Refrigeration Operator (entry level) or CIRO Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator (advanced level)




  • Ability to:




    • Perform preventative maintenance tasks




    • Repair and operate utilities systems




    • Troubleshoot utilities systems
















    • Must be able to pass pulmonary test (PFT) and physical agility test

    • Have a good working knowledge of the Process Safety Management program

    • Knowledge of and experience with computerized maintenance management systems

    • Knowledge of MS/DOS, Windows, MS Word, Excel and other computer applications

    • Technician is required to carry a pager and be on call 24 hours in the event of a plant malfunction, plant emergency or when no coverage is at plant.


    Preferred Skills:



    • RETA Certified

    • Boiler system and steam system certified

    • Ammonia system operator certification

    • HAZWOPER technician training completion

    • 5+ years experience with utilities operations and maintenance in:

      • Boilers

      • Air compressors

      • Ammonia refrigeration

      • Wastewater treatment

      • Water filtration
