SA-TECH provides operations, maintenance and sustainment of Air Combat Command and Air Force Global Strike Command Primary Training Ranges (PTRs) which consist of Electronic Warfare Ranges, Electronic Warfare Sites, and Bombing and Gunnery Ranges. The ranges accommodate basic to intermediate level air-to-surface training. Our Ranges vary in their size, complexities and capabilities and contain target arrays, remote-control moving land targets, electronic and passive threat simulators, and weapons scoring systems.


We are currently looking to hire a Deputy Site Manager (DSM) for a full-time, exempt position at our work site supporting a Primary Training Range Electronic Warfare Site at Snyder, TX, some 75 miles northwest of Dyess AFB in Abilene, TX.


The DSM's primary responsibility is to manage day-to-day operations and maintenance activities and efforts at Snyder EWS. The DSM will assist the Site Manager with management and oversight of all contract-related requirements and company programs and reports to the Site Manager.


Essential functions & duties include (although others may be added as needed):

  • Assist Site Manager in managing compliance with Statement of Work requirements, Union agreements (e.g. Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA)) and company programs.
  • Perform duties of Site Manager in his/her absence.
  • Assist Site Manager with ensuring a high standard of professional excellence is maintained by all employees and as required by several company manuals and instructions (e.g. Quality Manual, Employee Handbook, etc).
  • Prioritize and coordinate maintenance actions on a daily basis, working closely with Lead Technicians for real-time information on equipment status, repair actions, compliance with Air Force Technical Orders and parts status for all assigned Communications-Electronics systems.
  • Ensure proper documentation of maintenance actions by work centers and Maintenance Control.
  • Monitor site activities and provide guidance/support with issues related to range operations, maintenance activities and site facilities, ensuring all Government-provided equipment and property is maintained in a serviceable, safe, and properly configured condition, in accordance with all pertinent AF instructions & manuals.
  • Assist with or perform basic Maintenance Control and Supply functions as needed.
  • Interface and coordinate with various Host Base agencies when necessary.
  • Verify modifications, temporary fix, and cannibalization actions prior to their implementation.
  • Assist Site Manager with managing an active safety program that operates in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OHSA) and company safety guidelines and policies.
  • Process purchase requisitions and orders, in accordance with company purchase program guidelines and policies and assist with petty cash account handling and accounting.
  • Assist with managing Industrial, Physical, Information & Operational Security requirements.
  • Conduct routine security and safety checks of main site facilities, assigned equipment, vehicles, perimeter fence and gates.
  • Operate Government-provided computers on the Air Force network (NIPR Net) to access email, Teams, JDRS, IMDS, Logistics applications such as ILSS & DPAS, mission schedules, SharePoint sites with Equipment Status Reporting application, Job Logs and Supply Log data.

Work Conditions:

  • Performs work primarily indoors in temperature-controlled office environment, but could include work activities outdoors in an environment ranging from hot and humid, to cold and snowy.
  • Required to work under tight time constraints due to operational requirements.
  • Is subject to call-in at all hours.
  • Work schedule may vary, with changes determined by the needs of the contract customer, contractual constraints and the Site Manager.
Requirements:

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in management or equivalent experience and education.
  • Five (5) years' relevant experience/understanding of the requirements and work involved in PTR Operations and Maintenance activities related to EW range operations, maintenance and logistics control functions.
  • Experience with the following EW Range systems is preferred:
    • JTE Joint Threat Emitter
    • MST-T1A / MUTES
    • MST-T1 (V) / Mini-MUTES.
  • Military experience with Ground Radar systems or Radar, Airfield & Weather Systems is desired.
  • Experience with Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS) and Integrated Logistics System – Supply (ILS-S) highly desired.
  • Understanding of maintenance, logistics, operational safety, and quality assurance through demonstrated experience or general education, with the ability to interpret and apply Air Force directives, instructions and technical specifications.
  • Requires a working knowledge of MS Office applications and fundamentals to manage effective communications.
  • Ability to record, report, and compile information in a neat and readable manner; organize data, and use printers, scanners and copiers.
  • Must communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in written communications.
  • U.S. Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to start date and maintain a Secret Clearance throughout employment.
  • Will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
  • Current/valid Driver License is required as you must be able to be insured through company's vehicle insurance policy while driving company/government/rental vehicles during work hours, and for the duration of employment.
