Position Summary:

All openpositions are Hybrid & On-site, and employees are expected to be on-site as per their approved schedule.

MassBay Community College seeks a creative, anddetail-oriented individuals to join our team in roles that enhance andcoordinate the student experience. The full-time Assistant Coordinator ofStudent Engagement, Identity, and Belonging will play a key role in fostering avibrant and inclusive campus environment that supports the engagement,development, and success of our diverse student population. Working closelywith both the Director and Coordinator, the Assistant Coordinator will focus onidentifying, developing, and enhancing student clubs and organizations,assisting with large campus-wide programming, supporting department budgeting,ordering supplies, and maintaining a virtual presence on social media and theMassBayGoApp. Additionally, this role will support the administrative processfor students receiving supplemental support funds.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Club & Organization Support:

  • Serve as the point of contact for MassBay clubs & organizations;
  • Manage the planning and implementation of the club registration process;
  • Help to plan and implement student club/organization and advisor trainings;
  • Manage the planning and implementing the club & activities fair;
  • Maintain online resources for student club & organization leaders & advisors;
  • Coordinate with clubs & organizations by support them with event planning and processing required administrative paperwork;
  • Work with the Director and Coordinator of Engagement, Identity & Belonging to build and expand the quality of programs and services offered to student organizations and their advisors;
  • Assist in preparation and management of the College budget for campus clubs & organizations;

Programming & EventPlanning:

  • Create and organize responsive programming for the diverse population of students at MassBay;
  • Provide support in the development, coordination, and assessment of Student Engagement programming;
  • Collaborate with other college staff in the delivery of campus-wide programs;
  • Assist in the development of new and creative strategies to increase student involvement on campus;
  • Assist with campus wide events, such as the welcome week, mid-term study break, spring days, IMPACT Awards, Commencement;
  • Develop and maintain the Student Engagement programing calendar, that effectively meets the social, cultural, recreational, and educational needs of the diverse student body;

Social Media & Marketing:

  • Work with Marketing & Communications to ensure the Student Engagement website and MassBayGo App reflects the most updated information;
  • Engage with the campus community on the MassBayGo App;
  • Create, manage and maintain appropriate content for Student Engagement’s social media
    sites including but not limited to Facebook & Instagram;
  • Creation of Engagement, Identity & Belonging’s weekly newsletter;

GeneralResponsibilities and Duties:

  • Collaborate with the Purchasing Department to enter department wide financial requisitions, track and close open purchase orders (POs) and submit ordering requests for the department;
  • Attend Student Government Association (SGA) weekly general and finance committee meetings;
  • Support the development of student leaders;
  • Recommend policies relevant to Student Engagement;
  • Support the College's mission in providing students with civic engagement opportunities;
  • Support as necessary New Student Orientation;
  • Support the administrative process for students receiving subsidy and emergency support applications, verify eligibility, coordinate with Financial Aid, and process awards in collaboration with case managers and the finance team. Track, manage, and report on data related to subsidies;
  • Assist with the review of student immunization records.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, or closelyrelated field; with two (2) years experience and/or training that includesstudent activity planning/coordination, leadership development, orinterpersonal relations; or an equivalent combination of education, training,and experience.

  • Demonstrated commitment to working with underserved students;
  • Related experience with student activity planning/coordination, leadership development, and/or interpersonal relations;
  • Demonstrated experience in program development, including contract negotiations with outside vendors, speakers, and programming groups;
  • A commitment and sensitivity to the importance of diversity and creating a safe, affirming, and inclusive environment;
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse population of students;
  • Experience with student organization advising, training and financial management.
  • Demonstrated ability to function effectively in high-paced work environments; proven competence in managing multiple tasks and competing priorities;
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends. Must have the ability to travel between campuses and to off-campus sites for events;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Must possess very strong presentation skills;
  • Technical excellence with standard office applications (i.e. Microsoft products, particularly Excel, SharePoint, Teams), PeopleSoft, Canva; Ability to learn new technological skills required;
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish, French, Portugues)
  • Successful experience interacting with culturally diverse populations required.

Additional Information:

Salary Range: : $54,793 - $61,275, in accordance with one's education and experience as dictated by the collective bargainingagreement classification compensation structure.
