Centralia College is located on a 30-acre campus in the heart of Centralia, Washington and has been serving students in the Lewis County region since 1925. As a comprehensive community college, Centralia College offers academic transfer and workforce programs, as well as adult basic education, ELL, and personal enrichment classes. The college also offers five Bachelor of Applied Science degrees: Information Technology - Application Development, Diesel Technology, Applied Management (Business), Behavioral Healthcare and Teacher Education.


In addition to the main campus in Centralia, Centralia College East in Morton is a smaller site that serves the needs of students in east Lewis County. Since the college is committed to the success of all students, Centralia College also provides educational programs at two corrections centers in southwest Washington - Garrett Heyns Education Center located in Shelton, Washington and the Cedar Creek Corrections Center located in Littlerock, Washington. Job Description eTutoring is an online tutoring consortium for students in degree or certificate programs across offered through community and technical colleges. Duties and Responsibilities

Provide eTutoring to students to help with academic understanding of and assistance with any of the following subjects. The subject(s) is dependent on the strengths of the tutor. A tutor can cover up to three of the following subjects:


    AccountingAmerican Sign Language (ASL)Anatomy & PhysiologyBiologyCalculusChemistryChemistry (Organic)CommunicationsComputer Information SystemsComputer Network AdministrationComputer Science (Java & C++ only)FrenchIntro to Engineering (Mechanical & Electrical only)Intro to PsychologyJapaneseMath (Developmental through Trigonometry)Microsoft OfficePhysicsSpanishStatistics
Qualifications

  • Six months to two years of full-time experience/training in the appropriate discipline OR equivalent education/experience.

  • Previous tutoring experience

  • Ability to work at least one weekend shift

  • Dependability in adhering to scheduled hours and eTutoring standards (maximum 6 hours per week with the possibility of an increase in hours after July 2024).

Conditions of Employment

Hourly employees who qualify (work 350 hours in 12 consecutive months) are represented by the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE).

COMPENSATION


Salary: Range 39 Step A $19.50 - $19.50/hour
