The Research Project Manager plans, manages, and executes complex, multiple-component research projects studying healthcare delivery and health policy. The manager serves as an integral member of the research team to develop and achieve project(s) objectives, develop and facilitate the execution of project plans, communicate project status to leadership, and work effectively toward problem resolution.

The Research Project Manager will join TDI's Health Economics Lab at Dartmouth and would be focused on supporting cutting edge research aimed at improving the quality, accessibility, and cost of U.S. health care. We focus on topics related to physician payment, health insurance markets, insurance benefit design, and the pharmaceutical industry. We are seeking applicants who have experience in health care policy, management, or research, and who have stellar project management and communications skills. The research project manager would be an integral part of our larger research team, coauthoring papers and policy briefs, managing meetings, overseeing grant deliverables, and communicating with research partners.

Manages operational processes for one or more complex projects across the entire life cycle of research activities: developing and implementing protocols, data use agreements, data collection, data analysis, project timelines, and reporting.

With project leadership, supports the development of papers and presentations, conducts necessary literature searches and reviews, writes and edits paper drafts, and develops subject matter expertise that advances the completion of project deliverables. Quantitative or qualitative data analyses may also be conducted to complete research deliverables.

Establishes and maintains collaborative interactions with internal and external stakeholders necessary to achieve shared goals, advance the research, and disseminate findings internally and externally, including reporting to study sponsors.

Leads development of reports for sponsors and contributes to grant proposals.

Supports submission of Institutional Review Board (IRB) and data use agreements.

Supervises activities of junior project staff and other partners and develops training and necessary instructional materials, manuals, and toolkits.

Organizes meetings (i.e., research meetings, advisory board meetings) and conducts follow-up communications to advance the work and ensure follow-up actions are completed.
