Provides expert consultation and recommendations regarding the assessment and management of child maltreatment issues.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical Practice:
Provides phone coverage for after-hours program (nights/ weekends; with minimum one overnight shift per week and one weekend in 3).
Works collaboratively with care teams regarding the identification, evaluation, and management of cases of child maltreatment.
Participates in weekly program meeting; Monday 10 a.m.- 12 p.m.**
Organizational/Administrative:
Shares responsibility for maintaining the program database and other necessary program activity documentation.
Professional Conduct:
Adheres to the profession's clinical standards and Code of Ethics.
Promotes sensitivity to race, class, culture and sexual diversity.
Adheres to the Department and Hospital standards, policies, and procedures.
Promotes Program, Department, and Hospital public relations.
Professional Development:
Supervision from Child Protection Program Manager.
Maintains Massachusetts Licensure at highest level of eligibility (LICSW).
Patient Population:
Child Protection: Abused and neglected children under the age of eighteen, and their families/ children.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Master's of Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program required.
Massachusetts Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) required.
Minimum of 5 years' experience post LICSW.
Experience in an acute pediatric hospital setting or in a Child Protection (DCF) setting.
