Position: Senior Data Scientist
Job Location: 860 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086
Duties: Design a supply chain that leverages Walmart's unique advantages to lower operational costs, expand product assortment, and improve fulfillment speed. Manage and execute analytical projects from start to finish, including cross-functional project management, data collection and manipulation, modeling and analysis, software development, and communication of insights and recommendations. Build scalable and complex supply chain models and processes to optimize supply chain strategies. Design and develop robust strategic planning tools and systems to enable data-driven decision making. Identify areas of opportunity to improve existing business processes. Drive cross-functional participation to enable quick wins and continuous improvement. Create and deploy robust metrics and dashboards to enable tangible transformation.
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (any), or related field and 1 year of experience in an analytics related field; OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (any), or related field and 3 years of experience in an analytics related field.
Skills required: Experience managing and executing analytical projects from start to finish. Experience with cross-functional project and product management including idea generation, requirement gathering, feature prioritization, roadmap planning, documentation, communication, and coordination. Experience applying mathematical modeling, optimization, or machine learning theory and techniques to solve supply chain problems including network design, transportation, forecasting, or inventory control. Experience designing and developing large scale optimization or machine learning features and systems. Experience designing and developing optimization or machine learning models and algorithms. Experience designing and developing data pipelines including data source identification, data ingestion, data processing and transformation, data storage, and data consumption. Experience testing and performance tuning for large scale optimization or machine learning features and systems. Experience conducting quantitative and statistical analysis on big datasets using SQL, NoSQL, Python, R, Hive, or Spark. Experience coding in one of the following object-oriented programming languages: Python, Java or C++. Experience with software development with distributed version control system Git. Experience with software development in Linux or Unix environment. Experience with software development using one of the following cloud technologies: Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, or Amazon Web Services. Experience managing project and product development using Jira. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: $138,911/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
