The Data Officer will bridge the gap between educational practice and data-driven decision-making, focusing on analyzing educational data to provide insights that enhance early-grade education in Jordan. They will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure data informs strategies for continuous improvement. The Data officer will be responsible for processing and analyzing educational data and developing insights and reports to support and inform the ASAS project’s goal of improving early-grade education.

Your Background & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in data science, Education, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in data analysis, particularly in an educational or academic environment.
Proven experience as a Data Analyst, preferably in an educational setting.
Strong proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, R, Python, and Excel.
Very good command of English and Arabic is essential.
Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong understanding of educational metrics and standards.
Ability to communicate complex data in a clear and concise manner.
Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of data privacy laws and regulations.
Experience with survey design and analysis.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong critical thinking skills.
Experience with machine learning and predictive modeling is a plus.
Must demonstrate valid proof of unrestricted work authorization in Jordan.
Your Daily Tasks
Collect and analyze data related to ASAS education data, performance and learning outcomes.
Work with the monitoring and learning team to collect, clean, and analyze educational and national level household data.
Develop and maintain dashboards and data systems.
Interpret complex data sets and identify trends and patterns.
Create detailed reports and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
Provide actionable insights to improve curriculum, teaching methods and assessments for Pre and In service teacher education.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of ASAS interventions.
Ensure data accuracy and integrity.
Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in educational data analysis.
Develop predictive models to forecast ASAS outcomes.
Assist in the design and implementation of data collection systems.
Train staff on data analysis tools and techniques.
Develop and disseminate data analysis reports and summaries with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with national education goals.
Collaborate with program communications teams to produce materials that highlight program developments through data and their impact on the education system.
Draft and disseminate data analysis reports and visualizations with stakeholders as needed, seeking guidance or approval when necessary.
Collaborate with program communications staff to create outcome-focused materials.
Communicate through the program dashboard key metrics and visualizations to the SMT.
Coordinate with education agencies such as USAID UNESCO, World Bank, and the Education Sector Working Group and others to ensure complementary efforts and understand key education trends.
Support the Government of Jordan in co-developing and institutionalizing high-quality pre- and in-service teacher education through key data insights.
Identify potential risks related to program implementation and develop data led strategies to mitigate these risks.
Promote innovative approaches to use of program data and visualization.
Draft and update workplans and program management tools to ensure timely progress of program activities and alignment with EGEA objectives.
Contributes to budgeting for policy-related activities and annual planning and ensures alignment with EGEA objectives.
Demonstrate and promote IREX’s values, management principles and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, as a member of the EGEA team.
Lead by example in driving project success and operational efficiencies.
Provide training and mentorship to junior staff and team members to build their capacity in education data analysis.
Organize and lead workshops, seminars, and training sessions for government officials and other stakeholders on education data analysis.
