As a Purchasing Specialist II with Manitowoc Cranes, you’ll work autonomously to communicate and manage the timely arrival of purchased material with supplier base and work with supply base and internal departments to ensure proper inventory levels are achieved to support 100% OTIF. Obtains the most cost-effective arrangements for products/services using market research and negotiation skills, supplier selection and supplier performance monitoring. A typical work week is Monday through Thursday in the office, and Fridays are remote. This position reports to the Manager of Purchasing and sits in Shady Grove, Pennsylvania.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
PO release and management (Expedites/Defers/Cancellations) Ensure OTD of required parts while managing optimal inventory.
Supplier relationship management (Maintain positive relationship, increase value to Manitowoc).
Manage complex suppliers and/or commodities.
Part LifeCycle management (Maintain service solutions for customers) Coordinating cross-departmental communication like engineering to identify alternatives.
Follow up with suppliers on quotes past target date; review supplier quotes for completeness and compliance, advise of lead times, mins and lot sizes to load ERP system.
Identify and develop new potential sources to address current supply chain challenges.
Review and evaluate supplier performance in terms of price, on time delivery, lead time and quality.
Develop performance metrics and targets.
Identify & execute cost savings opportunities coordinating cross-departmental communication like with Engineering to identify and implement opportunities.
Develop parts programs to expand revenues.
Negotiate/Implement purchasing agreements.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in materials / purchasing with five to eight years’ experience in inventory management/materials/supply chain.
In lieu of education a minimum of nine years’ experience in manufacturing purchasing environment will be considered.
