Job Description:


  • The purpose of this position is to manage the accounts receivable for an assigned portfolio of customers, between $2 and $4 million, to ensure timely collection of invoices, minimize losses, identify and help resolve customer disputes and deliver an outstanding experience during every customer exchange.

  • Manages assigned portfolio of accounts, ranging from $2 to $4 million & 350 to 400 accounts, by monitoring account balances and aging, contacting customers (skip tracing) regarding delinquent invoices, determining and recording disputed charges, and researching unapplied cash and open credits in accordance with the company's collection action policy.

  • Minimizes risk of loss by identifying potentially high-risk accounts (excessive delinquency, exceeding credit limit) and making recommendations to management on corrective action (account restriction, cod, holding shipments, etc.).

  • Provides customer service by interacting with assigned customers via phone, email, etc.

  • Answering customer inquiries and providing documentation and information as needed to ensure that customers have all necessary information to approve and process invoices for payment in a timely manner and within company's terms. Adheres to all company and department policies and procedures to ensure proper and effective internal controls over the billing-to-cash cycle. Coordinates flow of information between the customer and the cash application department in order to ensure the timely and proper processing of customer payments, adjustments, and refunds and assists in problem resolution as requested. Works closely with the credit department in monitoring and managing the credit risk of accounts within the assigned portfolio and in obtaining needed information on which to base credit decisions.

  • Works with management to establish personal goals and objectives on an annual basis that coincide with company and department objectives. Establishes methodology to monitor results and progress towards achievement of goals.

  • Engages with sales and operations in efforts to assist with and/or be aware of collection challenges such as accounts converted to cash, customs restrictions, etc. Effectively uses key systems (duplex, image, galaxy, Etrans, CRM, GTD, coda, and the company's intranet) to research and provide customers with needed documentation and information.

  • Handles other duties to support their assigned accounts as well as support collection of unassigned accounts (3,500 to 4,500), including skip tracing, sending copies to customers and payment centers, handling release calls, preparing refunds, addressing returned checks and mail, supporting the dunning letter process, preparing collection agency PKs, and supporting 3rd party collection agency requests and inquiries to the collection mailbox.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.





Associate's degree in accounting or business or four (4) years equivalent experience. One (1) year of previous credit and collection experience with a large volume customer-based company is preferred. Excellent communication skills. Good analysis and problem-solving capability. Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail. Professionally persuasive and assertive. Ability to operate in a Windows environment, including experience with Excel and Word.






Preferred Qualifications:
This role will be hybrid, with some work from home and some in-office work depending on company policy, which means you will work remotely after completing your training. **Candidates that live in Tonawanda, NY 14150 are required.* Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. Must be able to undergo a drug test.



Pay Transparency:
This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current. Starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors. Permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.



Pay: Min= $15.00 - Max= $17.69
