Located in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.
Position Summary:
Theideal candidate will join a vibrant and inclusive educational community, andhave a desire and ability to work with a diverse population. The Admissions Counselor will assistprospects and applicants with the admissions process, including both generaladmissions to all degrees and certificates and also tier-one information aboutselective admission to specialized programs. The individual also will perform student admissions advising andadministrative work, maintain responsibility for evaluating admissionsapplications, meeting with applicants, evaluating transfer credits, recruitingstudents and processing and maintaining documentation. This position requires a schedule thatincorporates in-office days and travel within New England. The Counselor willbe expected to work some evening or weekend hours for recruitment activities,information sessions and special events or during peak times.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
-Evaluate applications of prospective students;
-Receive transcripts from other colleges and evaluate transfer credits: determine which courses/credits can be transferred to student's current program;
-Promote MassTransfer program;
-Provide information to prospects, applicants, and students via telephone, e-mail, website, walk-in visits, or scheduled appointments;
-Work with program coordinators to promote programs and recruit students;
-Organize information sessions, presentations, and recruitment activities;
-Make oral presentations and travel to recruitment sites;
-Collaborate with select local high schools and community-based organizations on admission activities relating to recruitment, testing, and registration of students;
-Attend meeting and serve on committees, participate in open houses, career panels, and information sessions, communicate with supervisor, employees, other departments, current/prospective students, parents, faculty members, other educational facilities, the public, outside agencies and other individual to coordinate activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems;

Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, HumanServices, Liberal Arts, or closely related field; with six (6) monthsexperience and/or training involving college admissions, transfer creditevaluation, or academic counseling/advisement; or an equivalent combination ofeducation, training, and experience.

Salary Range: $55,662 - $62,246, in accordance with one's education and experience as dictated bythe collective bargaining agreement classification compensation structure.
