Under limited supervision, manages the day-to-day operations of the assigned clinical engineering service line. Assists management with program management, including equipment repair, equipment calibration, and preventive maintenance, supervising and directing staff, planning and organizing workload, creating and maintaining open lines of communication, customer service, financial management, and team development.
Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

Coordinates, manages and performs the biomedical equipment maintenance, repair, calibration and evaluations of clinical equipment included in the respective service line, nuclear medicine equipment.
Supports and repairs biomedical service equipment, including daily assignment of tasks. Monitors and controls budgets to assure the most cost-effective and efficient operation.
Provides supervision of service line technicians, including employee motivation, hiring, discharge, discipline, and promotion and performance evaluation.
Provides technical training to other employees on equipment operation and checkout, repairs, preventative maintenance, quality assurance practices, procedures, and documentation.
Assists in the evaluation of new equipment and makes recommendations pertaining to electrical and functional conformance to standards.
Evaluates equipment problems and implements appropriate repairs with minimum supervision, maintaining effective customer relations and customer protocol.
Participates in hazard identification and medical device reporting procedures to ensure the patient care environment is safe.
Instructs customer personnel on safe equipment operation.
Performs preventive maintenance and calibration on medical equipment.
Maintains adequate files and parts inventory for assignments.
Achieves productivity, customer satisfaction and other established performance measures.
Participate in on-call rotation.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
Requires the expertise and experience of a senior level technician.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Electronics, Biomedical, or related technical discipline required; military training is a plus.
Minimum 7 years of experience working on biomedical equipment in a clinical environment.
Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience required in a lead or supervisor role.
Experience with the manufacturer Varian or the equipment type linear accelerators.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Valid driver's license
Working knowledge of anatomy and physiology and how it relates to the diagnostic, therapeutic, and monitoring characteristics of clinical equipment.
Theoretical and practical knowledge of electronic and mechanical technology, as well as familiarity with reading circuit diagrams and mechanical schematics.
Familiarity with pertinent regulatory agencies and the policies, codes, standards, and regulations that applies to the clinical equipment in their area.
Familiarity with the setup and application of all test equipment (electrical safety analyzer, digital multi-meter, patient simulator etc.).
Ability to identify skill development areas and takes the initiative to learn new processes and technologies.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical literature, schematics and technical.
Understanding of quality indicators and works toward raising overall scores.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Time management and organizational skills.
Willingness to be flexible in work scheduling in order to meet customer needs.
Detail-oriented.
Ability to perform basic financial analysis and calculate budgets, revenue and costs
Ability to effectively use software such as Microsoft Office and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
Strong knowledge of CE-IT alliance.
Takes on call assignments within the department schedule and serves affiliated facilities.
