General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process vendor invoices, manage expense reports, and record revenue to maintain accurate AP and AR records.
Budget Monitoring: Assist in the preparation and monitoring of departmental budgets, helping ensure efficient resource allocation.
Financial Analysis: Prepare monthly financial statements and perform variance analyses to provide actionable insights to management.
Compliance and Auditing: Support annual audits and ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
Data Entry and Recordkeeping: Ensure accuracy in data entry and financial document management.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to support budget planning and improve financial processes.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably within the education or nonprofit sector.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and MS Excel, including advanced functions like VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and data analysis tools.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
Attention to Detail: High accuracy in financial data and strong organizational skills.
Knowledge of GAAP: Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and compliance standards.
