SUMMARY : Under general supervision of the Manager or Assistant Manager, the Supervisor is responsible for leading a team to accurately and efficiently operate the food service operations as directed by the Assistant Manager or Manager. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below and will vary based upon a variety of factors including business necessity, location, and customer requests. Will be required to work evenings and weekends.

Responsible for ensuring staffing levels are appropriate and prepared for service
Ensures compliance with established laws and regulations within their assigned area.
Ensures continued adherence to all Foundation standards and procedures within their assigned area.
Attends a variety of meetings as directed by the Assistant Manager.
Orders, receives, and inventories food and supplies.
Responsible for the effective supervision, training, and coaching of crew members.
Ensures the readiness, organization, sanitation of area(s) assigned.
Ensures compliance with cash register and credit card policies and procedures in all area(s) assigned.
Resolves equipment, maintenance, and facility issues quickly and effectively.
Ensures inventories of food and supplies are sufficient and prepared for service
Interacts directly with customers and vendors to resolve issues and complaints in a timely manner.
Responsible for ensuring work schedules are communicated appropriately and time is recorded per foundations standards.
Ensures staff report to work on time, in uniform, and ready to work.
Required to communicate with co-workers, vendors, and other departments with professionalism and respect.
Maintains positive behaviors and actions and provides the highest quality of service to customers at all times.
Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
May prepare a variety of food and beverages, receive and store inventory, move and lift foodstuffs and supplies and prepare meals for customers.
Responsible for submitting a variety of reports in an accurate, timely manner.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the training of staff necessary to carry out effective operations of the area assigned; directly supervises part time and student staff; may assist in the supervision the activities of contracted staff providing services that may include custodial, landscaping, trash collection, pest control, repairs and other facility services.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of three years supervisory experience in a high-volume foodservice operation.
Valid CA driver's license and insurance.
Servsafe Managers or equivalent certification
Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills.
Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures to variety of situations.
Ability to be resourceful and to take initiative.
Ability to work cooperatively in a multi-ethnic environment.
Flexibility to adjust to changing schedules; open to new ideas and adaptable to changing technology.
Strong writing skills.
PREFERRED:
Three years of successful supervisory experience in a college or university food service operations.
