Summary


The Postdoctoral Research Associate will work under the direction of Professor Yubing Sun at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. The position is in support of the Laboratory for Multiscale Bioengineering and Mechanobiology (MIE).




Job Description


  • Develop a program of research that makes significant advances in epithelial mechanobiology, collective cell migration, and wound healing.

  • Design, collect data, analyze data, and prepare manuscripts for experimental works.

  • Supervise research activities within the lab including meetings with graduate and undergraduate students to assist them in designing their experiments, analyzing their data, and presenting their results.

  • When and if opportunities come up to respond to funding opportunity announcements, requests for proposals, or other possibilities for funding, write and submit research proposals responding to those requests.



  • Requirements



    • PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Molecular and Cell Biology, Materials Science, and other relevant areas. Candidates with strong research experience in experimental mechanobiology and single cell RNA-sequencing techniques are preferred.




    Additional Information



    • This is a temporary, grant-funded position. The initial appointment will be one year, with the possibility of reappointment contingent upon the availability of grant funding and satisfactory performance.

    • Salary will be commensurate with experience.
