We are growing in a big way and are currently hiring a Day Shift Manufacturing Specialist, Team Lead.

The Manufacturing Specialist, Team Lead for Day Shift SMT shall lead a team of specialists by coordinating staffing of work areas, creating training plans, and coordinating execution of the Production Schedule alongside the Supervisor. Other primary responsibilities include maintaining and troubleshooting equipment, monitor and manage the performance of production specialists - excluding disciplinary actions. Majority of time will be spent on the production floor.

Micro Systems Engineering's manufacturing line is a critical element in a global manufacturing enterprise collaborating on the attainment of exceptionally reliable medical devices. The position requires a candidate with critical thinking skills, robust communication skills, keen safety awareness, high attention to detail, and awareness of process and product technologies in the electronics field.

SHIFT DETAILS:

1st Shift: 6:30am - 3:00pm (5x8)

  • Competitive hourly wages with shift differentials (15% for grave shift, and a stackable 5% for all weekend shifts and 5% for Lead).
  • Annual bonus target of 7% on top of hourly wages.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • All responsibilities of the individual's Specialist level are applicable.
  • Organize and facilitate cross training of the team within all SMT workflow steps and across shifts.
  • Organize daily process activities and coverage in the assigned manufacturing areas to support factory wide achievement of delivery schedule.
  • Ensure timely escalation and documentation of problems to support groups.
  • Execute and improve 5S system in the selected factory manufacturing areas.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to foster a strong team environment within and across shifts and departments.
  • Empower team Specialists to take ownership of their manufacturing area.
  • Collaborate with Supervisors, Managers, and Engineers on setting up projects and priorities for Specialists.
  • Ensure daily written shift passdowns are completed and verbal passdowns are delivered to the incoming shift.
  • Provide feedback on employee performance to the shift Supervisor or Manager.
  • Report any abnormalities to management within the area of responsibility, such as, any risks with property, personnel, and concerns voiced by the teams.
  • Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the supervisor or manager.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school Diploma or GED AND 1+ years of relevant experience a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have high attention to detail.
  • Expertise in complex assembly or production skills and advanced knowledge of the accepted practices, operating methods, policies, and procedures within the assembly production function.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, team and multitasking skills.
  • Strong critical thinking skills required.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and escalate when appropriate.

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Associate's degree or higher.
  • Previous IPC-A-610 certification.
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and documentation.
  • Experience with SAP or equivalent.
  • Microscope inspection experience.
  • Ability to perform fine work under microscope ex. Soldering, cleaning, inspection, underfill dispensing from fine tipped needle etc.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be independently mobile.
  • The employee is also required to interact with a computer for extended periods of time and communicate with co-workers.
  • Cleanroom gowning required for all work in environmentally controlled area.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to work Night Shift (Sun-Wed or Wed-Sat) 10:00pm to 8:30am, a minimum of 40 hours /
  • week.
  • Job may require overtime in accordance with business needs.
