Position Summary
Directs and manages current and long-term profitable revenue growth, field sales operational effectiveness, including talent management, andAgent/distribution and customer relationship management, in assigned branch and territories. Spends significant portion of time in the field, interactingwith, supporting, coaching and motivating Agents and District Sales Managers.
This is an in office position for the Knoxville Branch. The selected individual must live in the Knoxville Branch territory.
This position is for the newly created Knoxville Sales Branch Operations.
Candidates may be considered for VP and Branch Manager level I and/or II based on qualifications and business need.
A company car will be provided.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manages overall operations of designated area of authority. Interviews, hires, trains and directs personnel. Prepares and conducts performanceassessments, coordinates discipline and oversees Employee development as required.
Assists in implementing branch and regional long- and short-term operating objectives for sales operations to meet overall corporate goals.
Coordinates planning efforts and partners with field operations management to assure that branch sales and region sales objectives are achieved.
Develops and manages current and long-term profitable revenue growth objectives. Accountable for sales performance and the achievement ofbranch level profitable market share growth objectives. Accountable for profitable underwriting results in the branch. Ensures that approved policies,plans and objectives are clearly understood and effectively applied throughout the sales operation.
Provides input to and supports RVP partnerships with actuarial staff in the management of local level rate making. Accountable for giving inputdirectly to Actuarial and through the RVP related to conducting rate reviews and executing scheduled rate changes according to plan.
Manages and implements the region and branch level business plan and annual revenue budget process. Oversees the district and Agent levelbusiness planning processes.
Implements and manages branch sales staff talent and succession management, ensuring alignment to and support of corporate needs andobjectives. Recruits, selects, hires, trains, and develops successful district sales managers and branch sales-related positions. Directs the handlingof Policyholder and Agent complaints and inquiries. Works jointly with the Claims Manager to resolve claimant complaints as needed.
Implements and manages the process for appointing and placing Agents in branch territories.
Oversees the branch process and results for managing Agency and claims (as needed) customer relations and problem resolutions. Ensures thatsales functional areas are efficiently organized and staff is adequately trained, directed and supervised.

Directs district sales managers in achieving consistent desired sales behaviors and results from independent Agents. Accountable for moving quicklyto address underperforming field sales managers, holding them accountable for achieving results.
Responsible for implementing and clearly communicating a comprehensive vision and strategy throughout the branch operation.
Accountable forassuring that all branch Agents and sales Employees understand both the strategy and their expected roles.
Maintains and applies a current knowledge of trends and latest developments in the industry. Implements changes and plans within authority.Represents the company within the industry, the community and among Agents. Generally promotes the company's goodwill and interests.
Servesas a liaison between the company and the state insurance department.As a licensed, non-commission company Agent, handles insurance agency business.

Qualifications
Minimum Educational and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree and six years experience in the insurance industry with an in-depth knowledge of life insurance, underwriting, claims, sales
management and agency structure, or related experience, required; or
Associates degree and eight years experience in the insurance industry with an in-depth knowledge of life insurance, underwriting, claims, salesmanagement and agency structure, or related experience, required; or
High school diploma, or GED, and ten years experience in the insurance industry with an in-depth knowledge of life insurance, underwriting, claims,sales management and agency structure, or related experience, required.
Additional Experience
Management experience preferred.
Extensive travel throughout the branch area required, including occasional overnight stays.
